Ingrid, Up Close and Personal…
Can you tell us about the young Ingrid? Your childhood life, family life, and your dreams as a child.
I am the eldest in the family of 5 children. My Father is Dominador B. Payaket of Eddet, Kabayan Benguet and Mayabo Tubo Abra. My mother born and raised here in Baguio hails from Agawa, Besao Mt. Province and Kabayan Benguet. Which makes me a full blooded Igorota born and raised here in Baguio.
As a child, my mother encouraged us to join and try out different activities. She enrolled us in Voice lessons, Keyboard lessons, Sports such as Karate, Judo and swimming. Despite having tried various activities, I had a particular interest in singing and enjoyed it as a hobby. The real passion for singing was ignited later on, during my college years. My sister Meg has a passion in writing while our younger brother and sisters are more into sports. Junior, Christine and Samantha are active members of the Mantas Swimming Club and have recently competed for the 2010 Palarong Pambansa under the elementary division. My dream as a child was to become a doctor.
You are blessed with a very beautiful voice. When did you start singing?
According to the stories shared by my grandmother situated in Kabayan (Natividad), I started singing when i was 2 years old and the very first songs i learned were of Ibaloi dialect. For the reason that I was taken cared of by my grandmother in Kabayan for a period of 6 months and was brought back to Baguio.
You were given so many awards and recognition as a singer and performer. What was your first lead role in a play? How did you feel at that time learning you got the lead?
As a freshman at SLU, I was luckily casted as a major character playing the role of Kim in Miss Saigon. With no formal training in acting, I felt very anxious and scared at first but the challenge was so enticing, I couln’t give up. I have been blessed to have wonderful and talented directors and co-performers who filled me in about the things I needed to know then. Everytime the curtains were drawn for the overture or beggining of the show, I couldnt help but to feel that electrifying adrenaline rush backstage.
What do you usually do during your free time?
In nursing, there’s barely a “free time” he he. Right after classes, we would proceed immediately for Glee Club rehearsals. On granted spare time, I love to be with my friends or spend time alone pouring over books.
Tell us about your favorites.

What is your dream travel destination? And who do you want to be with you?
One of my list before I die is to travel to as much countries as possible, together with my significant others especially my family and my Lola in Kabayan.
How did you join Pilipinas Got Talent?
I learned that PGT was having auditions here in Baguio through the commercials flashed on ABS CBN. To think that auditions in Baguio are rare, I couldnt pass up the chance. I didnt have to pay for anything or travel miles away which enticed me all the more. With the encouragement of close friends and family members, I auditioned on the last day.
Who are you going against with on June 5 Semi Finals? What can you say about each of them?
I am going against Hello World (dance group), Baguio Metamorphosis (Dance group), Josephine Aton (singer), Carl Malone (singer), Imusicapella (choir): TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
How do you feel right now? Are you nervous, worried, …?
I have a mix of emotions, but most of all grateful.
Who will be your inspiration while you will be on stage on June 5?
I draw my strength from God, family and friends. I draw inspiration from my kailians and kababayans.
You have a lot of supporters now, what do you want to tell them?
